Sean Brodrick – Positioning For A Q4 Rally

Cory
October 10, 2023

Sean Brodrick, Editor of Wealth Megatrends and contributing analyst to Weiss Ratings Daily joins us to share his outlook for markets and some of the trades he is making to kick off Q4. As rough as most markets and sectors ended Q3 Sean is thinking Q4 will have more of a rally. We focus a lot on energy sectors, including solar stocks, uranium, oil and natural gas. We touch on some other commodities as well with the big picture outlook being a high for longer Fed but now less fears of more rate hikes.

    Hi Jerry:

If you happen on this site, I would like you to watch this interview with Tucker Carlson and Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami about The Military Industrial Complex. This guy is well spoken and worth listening to: DT.

Another Big Loss Monday as the same algos continue to be run. Daily events have nothing to do with banking problems.

It was mixed bag today on Tuesday, where there was a lot of catchup in resource stocks with the Canadian markets having been closed on Monday for Canadian Thanksgiving, but the US general markets were open and trading on Monday, while the bond markets were closed for the US holiday.

As a result there was a lot of jostling and reshuffling of things today before everything settled out from both the bond yields and US dollar pulling back, and many commodities having moved up in response the last few days (with the conflict in the Gaza Strip being another X factor).

Overall the bias today was up with more green on the screen than red in commodities and resource stocks. Gold and Silver have been moving up since the end of last week…. Copper, Platinum, Palladium, Zinc, and Aluminum were up… and Oil and Nat Gas have been trending higher lately once again.

GDX, GDXJ, SILJ, COPX, URA, URNM, URNJ all closed in the green, and my resource stock portfolio was up also up on the day. It wasn’t a barn-burner rally in the resource stocks by any stretch, and some of the volumes were lower, but still I’ll take an up day overall compared to some of the dismal red down days we’ve seen the last few weeks.

Rephrase: All-time low. 90% in red yesterday. -4% for 45 stocks. Do not own stocks in indexes.

There has also been a lot of key news coming out of the resource sector this week, after a lull in news the last few weeks. I remain impressed by a number of the quality companies in the sector that are continuing to make progress on their projects in a very tough market where few companies are getting any credit for all the solid work they are doing. There has actually been so much going on lately it has been hard to keep up with all the sector newsflow.
